Relocated Rebels

Reporting Assignment # 8

Relocated Rebels
At the University of Mississippi, there are a lot of people that attends the school. The thing that stands out the most is how diverse the campus is. Besides other students on campus most of the diversity is noticeable in the sports department.
There are a lot of different cultures on the teams, but the teams that have the most diverse players are tennis, and track; the boy’s basketball team only has only one person. These students athletes travel far from home just for sports, most of these athletes are from Germany, Sweden, Norway, and Africa.
A lot of people wonder why theses student athletes travel so far away home, when they are not from other states, they are from other countries. Some of the students traveled so far not only because of the sports they play, but because they wanted to try living in a different environment from the ones they are use too.
Since theses foreign students are so far from home, another question people ask is, how they are adjusting to their new environment. Most of the foreign student athletes are upper classmen so they’ve pretty much have things figured out, but the underclass men are struggle just a bit.
I’ve question some of the athletes that are diverse and asked when did they make their decision to leave home and travel so far to a school in another country to play for, and women’s tennis player Vivivanne Vlarr said, “she knew as she got older she wanted to go somewhere else to play, even if it had to be another country she just wanted to see the world.”
